End of Trail

Well we just got back this morning from End of Trail. Chris is now a member of SASS. (Single Action Shooting Society). This is our second year at this event. Chris works for a company that sponsors it and we went last year to work the booth. Well this year Chris decided to get more involved and actually shoot in the competition.

These men have been doing this for years and it is fun to see all the costumes. Everyone dresses in the old west outfits. This is a picture of the "town"

This picture was taken as you come up over the hill and see a sea of trailers. The town in down behind all those trailers.

This is where they shoot. There are about 15 of these inlets into the mountain This is our trailer where we camped for 6 days!

Cowboy Chris! Actually as a member of Sass- you go by an alias name. His is Peter Dragon. (All the goods ones where taken. There are about 78,000 members)

This is the booth he ran along with another guy from work. The produce and sell reloading equipment.

Chris and I in the booth. I just came for visits.

Look who else showed up. Wild Bill and John Wayne!

I watched the buffalo show. This buffalo was actually used as the model for the new nickels.

The blacksmith. Chris bought this BBQ set that was made by them out of railroad spikes.

This guy is a 3 time world champion gun spinner. His name is Joey Dillon. He is very good.

Me in front of the tee pee village.

But this is how I spent most of the vacation.
Reading books in a hammock. I read 3! Which is AMAZING for me.
I read a few magazines and slept in and stayed in pajamas! We even rented a few movies to watch- which is the first time we have EVER done that- if you can believe it.

Of course I supported Chris while he was shooting from the nearest shade I could find. I didn't quite fit in much with my flip flops and t-shirts and shorts.

I see what you meant about the hat. I've lived in Calgary for 15 years and just finally bought myself a cowboy hat this year.
