Field Trip
Today Wyatt's preschool class went on a field trip to the local Tru Value hardware store. I believe the owner is a friend of Wyatt's teacher. This turned out to be so fun for the kids. I wish I knew what this man's name was because he was so good to these kids. Each child got a pair of safety glasses and some keys that they were allowed to keep. He took them on a tour of the store and showed them different things and explained what they are used for. Then he took us into the back of the store and demonstrated how they cut glass. They got to put together tubes used for sprinklers, hammer a nail, use a power drill to screw in a screw, run a forklift- which was their favorite!
He has in his store a glass case FULL of nasty scorpions. Ohhh- they give me the creeps. But the kids got to shine black lights on them to make them glow.
Then he gave them all a bag and said they could pick out 3 things from the store and put them in their bags. Then he took them one by one and let them scan them into the register. I feel bad for the person who had to restock all that!
On the way out they got a blow up ant and a bag of popcorn! Such a fun day. Thanks to Tru Value!!

That sounds like so much fun! Who knew that True Value could be such a fun place! What a great idea.
That "owner" is in our Ward! He's great.
