Halloween

Well, he did it! I put an undershirt on him, sprinkled baby powder on his legs and inside his costume, convinced him that "I fixed it" and assured him his costume wouldn't be itchy- Wyatt wore his costume tonight- but just long enough for pictures and trick or treating. As soon as we were home- he stripped it off.

Chris brought home pumpkins tonight so he carved us some fun faces while I made homemade pizzas for dinner. Grandma and Grandpa came for all the fun. Grandma and I walked the kids around the neighborhood while Chris and Grandpa stayed home to hand out candy.

This was the front of our house. We had a black light shining along with the orange lights on the house, spider webs, a strobe light going, scary music playing and a fog machine running. As soon as it was dark it all looked pretty awesome. We didn't have as many kids this year come by as we have in the past so we had so much candy. If you had come by our house tonight you would have hit the jackpot- Chris was handing it out by the handfuls- because I didn't want it back in the house.

Trunk or Treat

We had our ward trunk or treat tonight. There was a chili cook off and lots of fun games.

So after weeks of being so excited about his Batman costume- tonight we had a meltdown. I put his costume on him and it started to itch him. So we took it off and I put some clothes on underneath it so the costume wouldn't touch his skin. When I tried to put the costume back on him he cried- not only cried but a MELTDOWN! He didn't want it back on. So I said forget it- wear shorts and a shirt- I don't care- just be happy and have fun. This is him with another little girl from his nursery class.This was our "trunk". It looks better in real life. It was dark and you couldn't see into the back of the truck like you can in the picture- darn flash.

We won first prize!
This was the gift for bringing chili. I thought it was so cute. Tums, mints and a whoopie cushion!
Kate had fun. After she went around collecting candy she wanted to be the one handing it out. At one point Grandpa reached in the pumpkin to help himself to some candy and Kate said,

"No grandpa, it's for the children"

Well now everyone is home and watching the big Homecoming ASU game. Go Devils. We are undefeated!

We've been Boo'ed!!

Last night the Phantom rang the doorbell and left us a fun Halloween Treat!

A Cute Idea

Ok- so here is a cute idea I saw on Kristi's blog- maybe since I already made the paper chains- I will do something like this for Christmas- and especially since they will get enough candy on Halloween! Click on her name for instructions.

Countdown to Halloween

I just finished doing this with (for) the kids. Let's be honest- I did it with Kate while Wyatt took his nap and Kate just cut and taped all the extra pieces while I put the real chains together. I got the idea from Cindy and thought my kids might enjoy it too. We will see how it works.

Pre Halloween excitement

After their baths tonight I made the mistake of letting the kids try on the costumes I bought today at the store. They were so excited that now I can't get them to take them off! They wanted to see themselves in the mirror- Wyatt thought he was the coolest thing!
Kate originally wanted to be a princess, then she changed her mind and wanted to be a pirate, then today at the store- she saw this witch outfit and changed her mind again.
Wyatt watched the Batman movie at grandma's house last week and immediately was hooked.

I know Halloween is more than a month away, so I hope they don't change their minds again. I just know from experience that if I wait too long to get costumes- all the good ones are gone and you can never find the right size.
