Girls Camp

Girls Camp this year turned out to be so much fun. We have an awesome group of girls and some really fun leaders. We stayed at a cabin up in Heber and it was fabulous!! Our theme was Daughters of a King. I have so many fun pictures it is hard to decide what to post.

What's girls camp without a chocolate fountain??

Some of our fun and crazy leaders

One night we made tin foil dinner and dutch oven cobbler so I had the girls make their own ice cream in these ziploc baggies.

Here's our craft table. I think they turned out fantastic. All the girls painted them whatever color they wanted.

Skit night!!

These are the daily treats I had sitting out

These are the tuck in treats for bed time

My journals turned out great too!

To find the poem I used go here.

Girls Camp Prep

I haven't blogged much this week because I have been spending all my extra time on stuff for girls camp. I have been running to so many different targets collecting pajama pants. The had them on clearance anywhere from $3- $7. Did you know each Target is different and they don't price match between stores? I bought the same exact pajama pants at each store and they all had different prices. It is up to the individual stores manager. That was a little frustrating. I also was able to order the pants online for the sizes I didn't find for $6 each and got free shipping. I am getting them for the girls for PJS time at camp. Prayers/ Journals/Scriptures Time.

I also found t shirts on sale at Michael's this week for $1.88 each. They are perfect for girls camp. I got the pink ones. There is a guy in our ward who can do the screen printing for me.

I have been making these for the girls journals. They are made from the cheap composition books you can get anywhere. My sister in law gave me the idea. It is very time consuming but I am enjoying it.

Well, I took a week off of blogging. Not on purpose, but I have been so busy. I am the camp director this year for our ward and I have been trying to get organized. This year we are doing camp on a ward level instead of with the stake. So I have to do everything from finding a place to have camp to all certification, hikes, food, programs, shirts, schedules, etc, etc. My list seems to get longer everyday. I am excited about it though. I have some really good ideas so we will see how it all turns out. I might be biting off more than I can chew. I am not a good at delegating. I tend to want to do everything myself just to make sure it gets done like I want it to. That may be one of my weaknesses. So instead of blogging on the computer at night, I have been researching and planning. At night I have had a hard time turning off the brain when I am trying to sleep. I just lay there and think about camp. I really want it to be great. Our theme is going to be "Daughters of a King."

We have received so much rain this week- which is always good for Arizona. We welcome the rain anytime. One of the best things about our house is that our back gate opens up into the neighborhood park. It has been so nice to just open up the gate and let them play. This week though our park was turned into a lake. I let the kids run a little in the water, but it was a little chilly out.
